In this update, we’re proud to roll out PROVYS Sphere, our next-generation broadcast system with stronger web client support, open integrations, and easier upgrades. This rebranding is the next step in the evolution of PROVYS systems, opening the way to the exciting future.

The release also previews AI actions in the web client and adds time-based license validity for more accurate rights management. Workflow updates, broader subtitle support, and performance optimizations round out the release. Let’s take a look at the changes:

Introducing PROVYS Sphere

The rebranding to PROVYS Sphere marks a new era for our platform. The web client now supports core operational functions previously limited to the Windows client, while streamlined deployment, easier upgrades, and expanded integration tools make the system more flexible.

The system areas have been renamed—Linear, Online, AdSales, Content, and Production—for clearer navigation and a more intuitive user experience.

Smarter workflows with AI preview

This release also introduces a preview of configurable AI actions in the web client, with a full rollout planned for the 2025/11 LTS – long term support release. Administrators can now define automated actions that pull data directly from application fields and pre-fill outputs using customizable prompts. Results are always presented for user review, supported by a side-by-side interface ideal for translation, text refinement, or quality checks.

Example use cases include:

  • Text translation and tone adjustments
  • Shortening or expanding text
  • Generating synopses or structured paragraphs from metadata

AI in action

All prompts are configurable and can be shared globally across the application, giving teams flexibility while keeping human oversight in place.

More accurate rights management

License validity now supports precise time definitions in addition to dates. Broadcasters can define license start and end times—for example, to match a premiere in different time zones—ensuring accurate rights management across both linear and non-linear platforms. These changes extend across acquisition and sales licenses, UI forms, APIs, and planning engines, with careful safeguards in place to prevent misuse.

Other Highlights

Alongside these headline features, this release also delivers:

  • Workflow enhancements including new mock-ups for promotion and live acquisition workflows.
  • Improved subtitle support with EBU STL, EBU TT, and SRT file handling, including preview and limited export capabilities.
  • Performance optimizations across Autobooking, rights evaluation, and UI rendering.
  • ServerAPI upgrades, now supporting database functions as column and filter values.
  • AdSales refinements in invoicing, pricing, and campaign handling.
  • General usability improvements such as clearer clipboard actions, enhanced error reporting, and updated web framework (Angular 20).
