Web client development progressed significantly, closing the gap to the full scope of PROVYS Sphere Lite — from content and rights management to linear scheduling.

The web version not only retains the comprehensive functionality of the original desktop application — facilitating a smooth transition with shared configurations and consistent UI elements — but also delivers new features, optimized workflows, and a modernized user experience.

Glimpse at QA: There is never enough testing

Framework for functional testing has been extended to allow automated end-to-end testing for web. Tests can be integrated to deployment pipelines as part of every release and patch deployment and will be documented and communicated to customers.

Useful to know

  • PROVYS AdSales will warn user when inventory is in status not allowing booking.
  • You can specify times (from-to) for BXF playlist export and limit exported data as well.
  • Revised offered columns in cross list, it should be possible to select from more columns when configuring crosslist.
  • It is feasible to manage cloud user profiles from PROVYS portal.
  • ModeMoDrastic Player was deprecated as optional low-res player in Windows client.

Tips and tricks of PROVYS Sphere web version

  • Clipboards are available in planner.
  • Detail screens are opened in popup window by default in PROVYS Sphere web. Popup detail window is opened in maximized mode in PROVYS Sphere web.
  • Toolbar can be disabled in configuration in PROVYS Sphere web. It is possible to disable detail tab sheet in PROVYS Sphere web as well.

Safety first: Security issue solved in advance

The web application Myprovys.com and the web client have passed the penetration test executed by DCIT. It was a simulated, controlled cyber-attack designed to identify security weaknesses with a goal to validate the resilience of applications under test.

Legacy SQL Monitor component in web client was removed due to an access control issue discovered during penetration testing of web client. The functionality is fully replaced by more secure internal tools.
